Effect of Freezing Breast Milk

I was searching for baby food storages when I stumble upon this pdf document. This document is about a study of Effects Of Storage Process On The Bacterial Growth-Inhibiting Activity Of Expressed Human Breast Milk. Dra. JenniferLouL.Lorico and Dra. Ma.LucilaPerez of Ospital ng Makati stated the following conclusion.

Breast milk has bacterial inhibiting property against common neonatal pathogens. Bacteriostatic property of breast milk started to diminish after being frozen for 72 hours, but still exerted its inhibiting property.

I haven’t read the whole article (so many highfaluting jargons), but from what I understand the paper has the following points

  • breastmilk has the property to prevent growth of bacteria
  • breast milk’s bacterial inhibiting property started to diminish after being frozen for 72 hours (3days)

Nanay at Katsu Cafe

Craving for tonkatsu(yabu) but don’t have the budget? Katsu Cafe is here for you haha. Although it is not as delicious as yabu, you can somehow feel the ambience of real katsudon restaurant in japan. They have this mortar and pestle thing to grind your sesame seeds (just like yabu). I ordered their pork katsu set that costs 195php. The pork was just fine. My only disappointment is the cabbage is not “unlimited” (compared to yabu) 😦 though the rice is.

Disclaimer: did’t mean to compare Katsu Cafe to Yabu! Hehe

As long as God has not nullified his command to “Go forth and multiply,” there will always be babies.

And the job of breastfeeding advocates, especially with this wonderful onslaught of babies in our world, is to “go forth and demystify” the idea of breastfeeding.

But how do we persuade people that female breasts exist for babies? That breasts are not merely decorations to be used on special occasions? That babies need the life-giving milk from their mothers? That people who run companies making milk formula…
